Dr. Tina Schlingmann has been with Deutsche Bahn AG, Europeans biggest rail provider, since May 2018. As a materials expert and experienced strategist in the field of additive manufacturing, she identifies and evaluates relevant materials for railways within the corporate project “3D-Printing@DB”. More than 7,000 spare parts were printed at DB in a very short time, making DB one of the companies working actively with Additive Manufacturing. In the largest international network for industrial additive production "Mobility goes Additive e.V.", Tina leads the "Materials" working group and is involved in cooperation with other European railways.
In 2012 Tina completed her studies of material science. Subsequently, she headed a research project at OTTO FUCHS KG in the field of alloy design and development for aviation. In 2016 Tina received her PhD on microstructure and material properties of aluminum lithium alloys at the Technical University of Berlin. In her role as Innovation Manager at OTTO FUCHS KG Tina focused on combining the application driven side of additive manufacturing in combination with her methodological know-how as a metallurgist. In this function, she was in a team responsible for the introduction and establishment of innovation management in the company and played a key role in the strategic concept and successful introduction of additive manufacturing at OTTO FUCHS KG.
