    Year founded

At Okuma, we have a long history of innovation. And we continuously seek to improve the quality of our machines’ construction, the breadth of our offerings, and the strength of our technology. Pushing the evolution of manufacturing. That is our mission.

    From noodle-making to CNC machines

Japan 1898: Eichii Okuma was faced with a difficult choice. In his efforts to sell noodle-making machines, the Japanese entrepreneur could either compromise by accepting the limitations of the machinery available, or he could set out to explore new technological horizons. He chose the latter. The first successfully sold machines laid the groundwork for the multi-national corporation that bears our founders name to this day. More than a century after making the jump to manufacturing machine tools, Okuma’s state-of-the-art CNC products are used around the world to produce high-quality components for demanding industries such as aerospace and automotive.

    Open Possibilities

No matter how far the machines have come since producing key ingredients of Japanese cuisine, Eichii Okuma’s spirit remains the core of our philosophy: instead of waiting for technology to catch up with one’s vision, Okuma believes in pushing the boundaries of machining and opening new possibilities in terms of quality and productivity.
