    Description

According to McKinsey & Company, Industry 4.0 (Industrial IoT) potential will be around 11.1 trillion USD by 2025. Every company must embrace digitalization and ultimately incorporate smart operations to maintain their market position. Industry 4.0 pursues a novel IT concept requiring entirely new cyber security solutions to ensure secure, reliable, and sustainable smart operations. These solutions are not currently widely available, and consequently damage caused by cyber-crime globally was around 600 billion USD in 2017, with an average cost of 3.9 million USD per successful cyber-attack per company. Today, more than 70% of all connected IoT devices are vulnerable to cyber-attacks after which businesses face tremendous damages including losses of intellectual property/patents and/or productivity, damaged reputation, and financial losses. New approaches for cyber security are more imperative than ever.
