    Description

    The importance of data in our world is immense and cannot be ignored by the manufacturing industry. Whereas most companies have data sets to work with, developing a systematic approach to generate, capture and analyze data is the challenge. Consequently, processes such as reordering production materials, purchasing and doing price calculations are still widely done manually on a part to part basis.   New technologies such as machine learning and AI, can help in automating manufacturing and procurement processes. While many manufacturing companies are implementing modern data mining at a company level, such isolated systems will never leverage big data efficiently compared to platform solutions of the future. The presentation will provide insights into the transformative power that data can have within machine parts design and procurement in the future with the help of machine learning/AI. It will focus on part management systems, automated pricing and how to accelerate project cycles.
