The universal machining center for complete machining in one set-up is billed as a veritable top performer, for instance for the five-axis machining of complex free-form surfaces. Long-term precision is said to be ensured through a standard accuracy package that includes cooled servo motors, ball screw nuts and drives, and the compensation of the spindle displacement. With innovative electro-mechanical transmission technology applied in the swivel head, especially high holding torques for the highest demands in precision can reportedly be achieved. As the German manufacturers also report, a rotary table with a dynamic B-axis and a speed of 800 rpm turns the machining center into a lathe. By attaching predefined masses in the workpiece pick-up, manual, one-level balancing can be carried out. All in all, the machine and its flexible automation options are seen as an ideal option for high-end volume production.
