With the revision of the SM series SM 32-10, SM 32-13 and SM 50-13, Schmalenberger claims to be setting a new milestone in the field of self-priming centrifugal pumps. The multi-functional pumps in the range have already won praise in the past for their space-saving, compact design and the availability of standard motors. Now, according to the German company, the first three of seven sizes have been reworked and substantially optimized. The efficiencies have reportedly been improved up to 12 percent and up to 50 percent larger solids can now be handled. In addition, the noise level in the suction process was able to be significantly reduced. The excellent suction and delivery characteristics and the low operating costs due to the high efficiency are said to make these pumps an important component in a supply or return pump system.
