As the company explains, tool data were previously deleted in the control unit upon removal. Instead, the MPC system saves them and makes them available for reuse and for process optimization. According to the developers, the machine thus becomes an integral part of the digitized Industry 4.0 landscape. Tool actual data, offset data and other figures are delivered by the software, and the machine supplies information about which tools are currently in the magazine and in what condition they are. In this way, the application is reportedly capable of recognizing the remaining tool life of a tool, and can issue a signal when the early warning stage is reached so that a sister tool can be promptly ordered. This substantially reduces setup times, as the exhibitors point out.
