Portal for the procurement of digital twins

Cimsource develops building blocks for the digital transformation of the tool industry. The Tool Link procurement portal will be introduced at the EMO Hannover 2017.

    07 Jul. 2017
The procurement portal Tool Link enables direct communication between the tool user and the tool supplier.

With a new development from Cimsource, any manufacturing shop can reportedly cover its data requirements to one hundred percent. Complementary to Tools United, Tool Link will manage the procurement of digital twins of custom tools and will close eventual data gaps of Tools United. Special importance is seen in the fact that it facilitates the direct communication of the tool user and tool supplier. The portal applies the pull-principle to control the information supply chain from the customer perspective. To this end, the tool user defines the scale and scope of the required tool data and the mandatory properties. The system establishes the supplier communication, takes charge of the quality control and ensures the application of an unambiguous standard. A special merit is seen by the manufacturers in the Tools United Database being already interfaced for direct access. Moreover, the databases of suppliers can also be directly interfaced using their specific instance of the Sales Support Server.
