Alongside its automation options for machine tools, Zero Clamp also offers a suitable clamping device for handling blank parts. The Pneumatic-Drive provides a clamping force of up to 40 kN with compressed air at only 5 bar. According to the manufacturers, its unique feature is the self-locking system, which means that only compressed air is required during the clamping and unclamping process. It is therefore deemed ideal for virtually any milling machine, even without a rotary feedthrough. The clamping forces can be steplessly adjusted by reducing the compressed air. Optional drive variants from 5 to 20 kN are also available for clamping plastics, for example. Moreover, thanks to the replaceable top jaws, clamping widths of 10 to 200 mm can be achieved. The mechanism is supplied with air via the air feed holes on the underside, which are controlled via the four-channel clamping pot from the company. This clamping pot variant makes it possible to supply air above the base plate, enabling the operation of consoles, clamping devices and, of course, the centering clamp on the zero point clamping system. The system can also be operated via a hose system at the side or manually with a compressed air gun.
