As the exhibitors from Element Six report, CTB004 offers high-speed machining advantages and provides optimized workpiece surface finishes in both engine and chassis applications. The new grade, which supplements the company's CMX850 product, is deemed ideal for the cutting of aluminum alloys where a high surface finish is required alongside higher wear resistance. The four-micron fine grain structure is said to deliver an optimum balance between tool performance and resistance to abrasion and chips. Billed as ideal for complex machining requirements, the development is claimed to offer commercial advantages for end-users through a reduction in downtime and improved productivity.
