When space is at a premium, making sure your production operations thrive can be challenging. However, DMG MORI AG has taken up this challenge and developed a solution - the DMP 70, an ultra-compact and highly dynamic production machine. Its latest innovation recently celebrated its world premiere at the company’s in-house trade fair in Pfronten in Germany's Allgäu region.
The DMP 70 follows in the footsteps of the highly successful MILLTAP 700, over 3,000 of which have been installed. Like its predecessor, the new DMP 70 is designed to ensure maximum productivity in the smallest of spaces. Yet at just 4.2 square meters, its footprint is around another ten percent smaller. DMG MORI has designed the compact production machine primarily for applications in the medical technology and job shop fields but it is also ideal for use in the aerospace sector and other demanding industries. Travel paths of 700 x 420 x 380 millimeters and the optional integrated swivel/rotary table enable 5-axis simultaneous machining of a wide range of components, offering an ideal way to ease the pressure on existing machinery. Automation solutions such as the WH 3 Cell workpiece handling unit, which was showcased alongside the DMP 70 at the in-house trade fair, can be connected flexibly from the left or right, or even from the front.
