Balluff GmbH, based near Stuttgart in Germany, is bringing a whole host of innovations to Hannover. With its solutions and innovations, this sensor specialist and global supplier of automation solutions is once again proving it is one of the pioneers in developing and implementing Industry 4.0. Easy Tool-ID – which Balluff is now offering as a cost-effective entry-level tool management solution - is certain to be one of the company's key highlights this year. It is being accompanied by safety components, integrated security solutions and new efficient sensor solutions for tension monitoring at the tool spindle, position feed at the axes of motion and end position monitoring at the linear units.

Easy Tool-ID can be retrofitted to virtually any machine tool - all that's needed is a suitable USB port. The easy installation and configuration eliminate manual entry. Data is now written from the presetter (system requirement) directly to the tool using RFID technology and then transferred to the machine tool by the Easy Tool-ID system, thus permanently minimizing the risk of incorrect entry. Setup times are also cut significantly with this plug-and-play solution. Easy Tool-ID consists of a tool stand with integrated read/write head, processor unit, microcontroller and power supply.
