Handtmann will be presenting a new combination that is claimed to ensure a significant increase of dynamics and cutting performance. Very high dampening performance and rigidity, enhanced and bearing-independent hydraulic clamping and highly dynamic direct drives are said to yield higher process reliability in five-axis HSC machining. With its new fork head, the manufacturers have developed a milling head especially designed for high-speed cutting. The HBZ Compact Cell is now available with equipment such as an extended tool magazine, a larger work zone with improved vibration and dampening features, and improved ergonomics and temperature compensation. With a whole series of fork heads, the German company reports that it now offers the key component milling head for its machines from one source. The availability of various head and spindle combinations coupled with retrofitting capability enable customer-specific configurations.
