VM15 is a programmable modular system designed for medium complexity applications on grinding machines. It provides solutions for the one-plane balancing of the grinding spindle, touch detection to control the grinding wheel workpiece and grinding wheel dresser contacts using acoustic emission or power sensors, and in-process gauging (comparative). According to the manufacturers, it is ergonomic and easy to setup, does not require surveillance, and can be installed on any type of grinding machine, both new and with retrofitting. Features include a control unit in the electrical cabinet for configuration, a remote graphic control panel, and TCP/IP connectivity for servicing operations and remote diagnostics. Each installed function is fully independent, as the Italian company points out. In case of a function being temporarily unavailable, it can be disabled and the rest of the system can continue to operate. The solution comes with the software application VM15 Service for backup, restore and software upgrade operations.
