German Tech Precision (GTP) manufactures machine tool drives for a&g Automation and Gears. A two-speed manual gearbox will be spotlighted as a main spindle gearbox with feed-through technology for tool cooling and lubrication. The scope of delivery includes, in addition to the rotary union, a positioning bracket, a steel pipe and a Coolant-Through-Spindle (CTS) gearbox. With a power output from 15 to 80 kW, the new development is said to cover a wide range and offer decisive advantages. According to the exhibitors, the gearboxes are characterized by very low vibration values, a very low noise level and very low backlash. The machines have a high level of stability thanks to helical gears and the fine balancing of all rotating components. As is pointed out, the temperatures remain low even at high speeds and the coolant has no chance to mix up with gearbox oil. Reliable gear shifting is ensured by a worm gear transmission with safety clutch.
