The Hoffmann Group, Europe's leading system partner for quality tools, took the opportunity at EMO Hannover 2019 to unveil the GARANT Master Tap INOX, a new specialist solution for thread tapping. Like its forerunners from the GARANT Master Tap product family, INOX aims to impress with its reliability, performance and durability. For example, a new flute and cutting-edge geometry ensures optimum chip formation and evacuation. The special design of the back of the tooth also ensures that chips are cut off accurately and that the chip roots are polished, thus eliminating loose and twisted swarf. The absence of interference contours means that threads can be tapped almost to the bottom of the hole, with an optimized spiral point reducing cutting forces at the tap infeed.

Focusing in particular on work in high-alloy stainless steels, Hoffmann has rounded off the cutting edges of the new GARANT Master Tap INOX using pitch-dependent parameters. This is intended to ensure even wear, as it eliminates discontinuities on the cutting edges. The high-quality, torsionally strong HSS-E-PM cutting material and ultra-hard, low-friction TiAlN multi-layer anti-friction layer provide added protection against process heat and premature wear. Thanks to all it offers, the new high-performance GARANT Master Tap INOX promises to open up further opportunities for professional users to make their machining processes more efficient and cost-effective using this exceptionally stable tool from Hoffmann.
