Industry 4.0 is all about intelligent machine control, digital networking and machine communication - familiar territory for some time at CHIRON-Werke GmbH & Co.KG in Tuttlingen. The CHIRON Group was already involved in such developments when terms such as "Industry 4.0" and "Smart Factory" had not even been coined. It has long been on the right track with Industry 4.0 thanks to CHIRON ProcessLine and CHIRON Condition based maintenance.

The Group of companies now combines all its tools for process optimization during all machine life cycle phases under the umbrella term "SmartLine". Alongside the CHIRON ProcessLine software to automate programming and simulate NC programs, and CHIRON RemoteLine for web-based remote diagnosis of equipment from different manufacturers, the new CHIRON DataLine provides a platform for integrated machine and process diagnostics that allows equipment to be controlled from any browser-enabled end device. Chiron has also announced further SmartLine additions for EMO in Hannover in September 2017, when the focus will be on quality and collision control.
