Illumination for objectives bathes samples in white light

For the Sensofar S Line systems, a new Ring Light extension is available for low NA (Numerical Aperture) objectives. The illumination immerses the sample in white light.

The new Ring Light is placed over the objective and immerses the sample in white light.

As the manufacturers explain, the Ring Light add-on is mounted above and around the objective and more effectively bathes the sample in light. This effectively provides a stronger signal for both confocal and focus-variation techniques on steep or technically complex surfaces. The new lighting option is controlled through the Sensoscan user interface to deliver white light to the sample. The Spanish company Sensofar Metrology provides high-accuracy non-contact 3D surface metrology systems based on confocal, interferometry and focus-variation techniques. The portfolio offered includes standard setups for research and development and quality inspection laboratories as well as compact in-line non-contact metrology solutions for production processes.
