Highly productive gear making on turning centers

With its power skiving solution, Heimatec has developed a new family of tools for gear cutting on turning centers. It is claimed to allow high-quality internal and external toothing as well as oblique and straight gearings.

Heimatec.Skiving enables high-quality gears to be manufactured on turning centers with a high degree of productivity.

The Heimatec.Skiving series of tools is equipped with an angular adjustment of plus/minus 45° to ensure a broad processing range, thus ensuring that the required working angles can be steplessly set. The tools are available with both external and internal coolant supplies. Thanks to the manifold tool fixtures available, such as standard clamping jaws, the Heimatec u-tec changing system, hydron expansion and milling mandrels, an efficient and user-friendly tool clamping is said to be ensured. The particular advantage of the skiving process is claimed to lie in the high processing speed, whereby gears can be manufactured highly productively and at least three times faster than with established processing methods.
