Juaristi will be showcasing a high-performance horizontal boring and milling center at EMO Hannover 2017. The TH3S boring-milling center with its central headstock reportedly combines the highest precision, maximum cutting capability and a high automation level with its use of automatic heads, head changers and probes. The machine dynamics of up to 40 m/min allow the use of the latest cutting tools with a large chip removal capacity and high feed rates. The manufacturers see the flexible and cost-effective machine as ideal for various applications in the energy, tool and die, aerospace, transportation and subcontracting sectors. The version on exhibition will feature a table cross travel X of 3,000 mm, a headstock vertical travel Y of 2,500 mm, a column longitudinal travel Z of 2,000 mm, and a boring bar axial travel W of 800 mm. The boring bar diameter is given as 130 mm, whereas the rotary table measures 1,600x2,000 mm and has a maximum load of 20,000 kg. The Spanish company further draws attention to the Siemens CNC control 840D–SL, the ATC-120 tool changer, the D'Andrea UT5-630 facing head, and the automatic head changer magazine. The machine also incorporates a Renishaw RMP-60 workpiece probe and NC4 laser-type tool setter.
