Electro-plated usually means surface-coated, as the German tool specialists explain. Depending on the grain size of diamond or CBN grits, the coating is layered onto the grinding or deburring body with up to 1.5 times (including electro-plating) the original particle size. Protruding diamond and CBN tips reportedly have a special advantage over other bond types such as plastics, metals or ceramics. This is because the tips are immediately available and provide a high cutting ability for grinding, deburring and separating of fiber composites, graphite, hard metals and ceramic green bodies. This also generally applies, among other areas and operations, for mold and tool construction, internal grinding, and steel jig grinding from 58 HRc (CBN) onwards. The exhibitors additionally offer the re-coating of worn bodies and the coating of special custom bodies as special services for their customers.
