The Tschorn 4.0 edge finder automatically finds the zero point of the workpiece. As the exhibitors stress, it is also possible to measure the workpiece automatically and precisely, an aspect that points in the direction of Industry 4.0. The company's familiar 3D precision probe has been equipped with a sender module that communicates with the receiver. This receiver module can be placed, for example, directly at the machine console by the operator. At that position, the operator can then see the built-in control LEDs throughout the entire probing process. The control LEDs on the edge finder and on the receiver provide information about the device status, the radio contact and the probing process. The instrument enables the machine to process the incoming probing signal directly in the machine control. This functionality is said to be independent of the control manufacturer and is therefore quickly and universally usable on diverse milling machines and machining centers.
