The new HSK spindles to be unveiled by Diebold at the fair will include the HSG-E 198.18.AK (grease-lubricated high-speed spindle) with cartridge design (the designation E in German). As the exhibitors maintain, spindle changes can be carried out quickly and easily by the machine operator thanks to this concept. In addition, the spindle reportedly has less unbalance as a result of its precisely machined components and the temperature growth has been minimized through clever cooling. The HSK-A 63 spindle has a speed of 18,000 rpm with a total length of only 374 mm, including a rotary union for coolant or MQL. Also specified are a diameter of 198 mm and a drive power of 38 kW (S6). Different spindle housing designs are available. Further merits highlighted by the company include perfect concentricity and running stability, tight tolerances through the sophisticated motor cooling, and the easy servicing.
