A new solution for demanding five-axis-machining will be on show from Unior where high productivity, high accuracy and high machining dynamics are required. The concept offers a solution for the two-spindle machining of precise workpieces with NC corrections of each axis separately (X, Y, Z and B). It allows the processing of both symmetrical (mirror) workpieces and asymmetrical workpieces such as housings and pump covers. High acceleration and speeds are reportedly ensured in the X- and Z-axis through linear drives. As the manufacturers specifically stress, high precision is achieved with an external measuring system and the option of an independent correction of each axis separately. The large machining area enables the machining of larger workpieces with dimensions up to 700x700x600 mm and also guarantees excellent accessibility and chip removal. An optimal cycle time is achieved by direct workpiece loading.
