This latest innovation from the company stands for Electronic Live Tool Integrated Monitoring and has been specially developed to enhance the preventive maintenance of live tools. According to the exhibitors, the solution for IOT/I 4.0 (Internet of Things/Industry 4.0) is a revolutionary digitalization system for driven tool-holders in turning machines and angle heads in milling machines. Conceived as a complete package, it comprises sensing, microelectronics, wireless data transfer, an app for the visualization of tool status on mobile phones, and a special cloud for the tool management of live tools operating in different machines throughout the world. As is pointed out, the system provides real-time analyses, trends and status reports to maximize the lifetime of live tools, whereby the storage of operating data such as temperature, speed and running time in the cloud allows global access and evaluation.
