As the company explains, the MMP technology is capable of continually reproducing mirror-like finishes with unrivaled aesthetic consistency and technical precision. The technology deployed can apparently deliver such results even on the most complex of geometries. The results are said to be both uniform and reproducible. The unique ability of the MMP technology to selectively target roughness is claimed to dramatically impact the performance and tool life of specialized cutting tools. The cutting-edge and surface preparation before and after coating reportedly produces a significant improvement in performance. Moreover, tool life can be enhanced since chips do not become stuck and tool-change times are significantly reduced. In summary, the company lists the advantages of its Axis Plus tools as reduced flute friction, drastically improved chip evacuation, reduced heat generation due to smooth cutting, controlled and repeatable edge honing, and enhanced adhesion of thin coatings (PVD and DLC) due to superior surface preparation. In addition, the super-finishing of customized diamond coatings through MMP technology is said to improve the performance of the tools, especially when machining graphite and modern composites such as CFRP. The tool range includes micro drills, micro end mills, ultra-long drills, PVD-coated tools, and CVD diamond-coated tools.
