    Coordinate drilling unit for deep drilling and milling

    Loch has developed a new coordinate drilling unit with the designation KTBF 1-6/15-05-12/05 CNC for the deep-hole drilling and milling of tools, molds and heaters.

    The concept for the new coordinate deep-hole drilling unit has been designed in such a way as to minimize the machine's non-productive time.

    When equipped with a counter rotating tailstock, shafts can also be machined counter-rotated with the new system. The drilling unit, with a separate controlled milling unit beneath it, is attached to wear-free guides on a massive support. An NC-indexing rotary table, which can be moved longitudinally and transversely on wear-free guides, is used to pick up the workpiece. The changing of tools at the milling spindle is carried out power-operated either manually or in conjunction with a tool-changing system that is optionally available. The deep-hole drilling machine is fully covered and its concept is based on short times for retooling and a reduction of the secondary processing times. An engine spindle with 12 kW is deployed for the milling spindle to ensure high-performance stock removal. The manufacturers add that the honing of small diameters is also possible for the first time on the machine. Further features include integrated tool failure control for the drilling and the milling spindle and a Siemens Sinumerik 840 D sl CNC control.
