Within the German DVS Technology Group, Werkzeugmaschinenbau Ziegenhain, or WMZ for short, specializes in the complete machining of shaft components. At the fair, the focus of the company's exhibits will be on the machining of components for alternative drives. In particular, the motor shaft of an electric drive will be soft turned, milled, drilled and geared using the Power Skiving method on an H200 machine in a live demonstration. This is apparently the first time that the power skiving gearing technology will be presented by the exhibitors. This technology combination is said to primarily address production firms with medium-sized series for the electric vehicle industry. With the machine on show, in addition to saving the costs for several single-technology machines, such customers can reportedly also reduce setup times to a significant extent.
