The use of a new activation design in the Autofacer from Hermann Bilz now allows back spot-facing without changing the rotational direction. As the company explains, the tool passes the bore hole with closed cutter blade non-rotating, while the blade is activated at a certain speed to start cutting. When the spindle stops, the cutter blade is closed automatically. This activation method is said to work on any type of machine. The modular back spot-facing system consists of the activating module with the flywheel mass and the exchangeable tool itself. As a result, different systems can be used in combination with the same activating module. As the German manufacturers point out, other activation systems are also available on request.
