At EMO Hannover 2017, the designers from BURKHARDT+WEBER (BW) could see that numerous users have clearly been waiting for something like the new MCC machine series - with compact dimensions and yet outstanding accuracy, stiffness and power, just like the company’s large machining centers. BW describes the MCC as a tough, uncompromising workhorse that is ideal as an extremely strong stand-alone machine in the 630 pallet format or for interlinked series production. The designers' aim was to develop a genuine BW series for stand-alone solutions and interlinked production lines that delivers high performance and boasts state-of-the-art technology despite its compact size.

The new MCC series has an A-axis, newly developed by BW, with a large swivel range for maximum flexibility. The MCC incorporates all the key BW features offered by the large machining centers – such as accuracy, outstanding stiffness and availability - while also being exceptionally cost-effective. According to BW, this machine series is also an important component of smart manufacturing solutions. The provision of status data will enable the user’s higher-level systems to be predictive in organizing production and maintenance, thereby reducing the number of stoppages and ultimately increasing system availability. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the MCC series not only enables easy interlinking but is also ready for digital networking in self-organized production processes. In addition, it will support full integration into customers' MES infrastructure.
