SCHUNK GmbH & Co. KG was founded by Friedrich Schunk as a mechanical workshop in 1945 and, over the years, has developed into an industry expert and global market leader for gripping systems and clamping technology. The VERO S quick-change pallet system has long been one of the highlights of the SCHUNK portfolio. Nicknamed the "set-up time killer" by its developers, this technology ensures machine operators can change workpieces, clamping devices and jigs precisely and - more importantly - quickly. In fact, performing the set-up in parallel with machining processes is said to reduce idle times by up to 90 percent. To meet the requirements of Industry 4.0, SCHUNK has now developed the VERO S NSE A3 138 automation module specially for automated machine tool loading and for applications in handling, assembly and automation technology.
As the latest, fully compatible part of the comprehensive SCHUNK VERO S modular system, the VERO S NSE A3 138 automation module is equipped with a powerful blow-off function that carefully cleans the bearing surface during the changing process, ensuring workpieces and clamping devices can be changed reliably. A spring-actuated cone seal also prevents chips and dirt from penetrating into the interface. To ensure the product can reliably accommodate even high tilting moments and lateral forces, the module body of the VERO S NSE A3 138 boasts excellent dimensional stability, which benefits the rigidity of the automated quick-change solution - as does the enormous pull-down force of 8,000 N or 28,000 N when the turbo function is activated.
