The new shelf magazine from Haas Grinding Machines has dimensions of 2,000x2,400x3,200 mm (LxWxH). In combination with the Multigrind CB grinding machine, the new tool magazine offers space for 65 grinding wheels, each with a diameter of 300 mm. When used with the Multigrind CA grinding machine, however, it can be equipped with up to 70 grinding wheels, each with a diameter of 250 mm. The magazine can also hold up to 20 coolant nozzles. The linear axes offer a speed of 60 m/min and an acceleration of 5 m/s2. According to the exhibitors, it takes only ten seconds to change a tool with the new shelf magazine. The German company says it is not aware of any other tool magazine on the market that offers as much space and flexibility. The mechanical engineering firm is specialized in tool grinding centers for complex shapes and produces three types of machines, each in a wide variety of different variations, namely the Multigrind CA, CB and CU systems. These are used to machine rotary and profile tools, gear cutting and cold forming tools, as well as medical instruments and implants.
