Absolent will be exhibiting the newly developed A-5 filter unit at EMO Hannover 2017. The device is the second filter in the A-line range following the A-10. Like its bigger brother, it is a versatile oil mist and oil smoke filter and has been adapted for even smaller machine tools running at high speeds with high coolant pressures. Of the four filter stages, three of them have the company's patented Catch and Release function, which normally allows for at least one year of maintenance-free operation even when the machine is running 24-7. The final filter stage is a Hepa H13, which ensures the filtered air is free from oil particles. At full capacity the new unit handles over 300 liters of oil per year, with just a teaspoon of the oil being readmitted into the air. The filter is equipped with an energy-efficient EC fan that increases its speed to adjust the air flow when the door of the machine is opened. As a result, the contaminated air is reportedly kept inside the machine and the operator is protected. The handheld A-Control unit monitors and controls the operation well as providing continuous information on parameters like the pressure drop at each filter stage, running hours, and fan speed.
