Mandelli has announced the development of a new software package that enables machines connected in a network to be fully monitored by any remote device, both by the manufacturer and by the customer. This is reportedly achieved through an extensive network of sensors and an intelligent vibration control system. According to the company, any malfunction can be detected well in advance as a result and recalibration can then be carried out to restore optimal machining parameters. As is stressed, the package does not merely involve simple prevention but conducts smart prediction whereby the functional data of the horizontal machining centers, for example, enrich a cloud-based information database. Through statistical calculations, this facility is able to forecast a possible downtime in order to plan a maintenance intervention with minimal impact on the production system and only when it is really necessary.
Monitoring software package for Industry 4.0
With their i-Pum@Suite 4.0, the developers at Mandelli have created a software package for the factory of the future. It comprises the applications i-Control, i-Reality, i-Predict, i-Smartcut and i-Scada.
