Parpas, the main brand of Gruppo Parpas, will be showcasing the XS line of high-speed gantry milling machines. The complete design of the XS has reportedly been developed using FEM software with particular attention to maximum rigidity and accuracy. The key merits of the machine are said to lie in two patented systems. The first is a feed system for the longitudinal axis performer using double torque motors (TTM system) with rack and pinions allowing a feed rate up to 100 m/min. The second system enables full control of the thermal deviation on the structures to facilitate very high accuracy values in five-axis machining under any ambient conditions. The machine can be equipped with various five-axis milling head configurations with specifications from 40 kW, 800 Nm torque and 5,000 rpm up to 65 kW, 250 Nm torque and 24,000 rpm. With the possibility of its automatic head or spindle cartridge changing system, the exhibitors see particular deployment in roughing, semi-finishing and finishing operations as well as in the mold and die or aerospace industries with materials from steel to aluminum and composite. The machine is available in different sizes ranging from 3,000x2,500x1,500 mm up to 30,000x7,000x2,000 mm.
