    High-precision jig grinder in dual-frame design

    With higher dynamic axis movements and much greater rigidity, the grinder provides optimal conditions for finishing with hard precision milling.

    Like its predecessor, the Hauser H40-400 is designed to set standards in terms of accuracy and performance during coordinate grinding.

    The Hauser H40-400 is the successor to the familiar H35-400 model that set industry benchmarks in terms of precision and performance in the jig grinder segment, according to Kellenberger. The universal jig grinder being introduced has proven technical features such as automatic taper grinding, an automatic grinding tool changer (ATC) and an automatic pallet changer (APC). It can be expanded easily to an autonomous grinding unit. A technical highlight of the new machine is the dual-frame design, which significantly increases the rigidity of the grinder and therefore ensures even higher precision. In this box-type design, the machining head is positioned centrally within the machine frame, thus enabling machining forces to be optimally controlled. Almost no transverse forces are said to be created. Moreover, since the tool machining point is located at the center of the machine, practically all thermal expansion effects are eliminated. With higher dynamic axis movements and much greater rigidity, the grinder provides optimal conditions for finishing with hard precision milling. The overall result is claimed to be a marked increase in productivity not only for the ultra-precise grinding processes on the machine but also for hard milling.
