As the company explains, the moveable covers can be accelerated up to 1G at a velocity of 60 m/min. The support structure consists of lightweight aluminum and the low-friction plastic guide blocks, and the precision bearing rollers provide for smooth operation. The manufacturers point out that roof covers serve to protect against dirt, reduce noise, and prevent the emission of splinters, dust and particles. According to the German exhibitors, upon pulling in, the roof opens completely either on one side only or on both sides and thus creates room for loading with an up to 9,000 mm self-supporting span. The ratio of extended to pulled-in length is specified as 10:1.
