The Narwhal 1500 from Emsil has been developed for machining large and complex workpieces.

The Narwhal drilling, milling and boring centers from Emsil have nine axes and two spindles. According to the Rumanian exhibitors, the configuration of these machines allows great versatility regarding the range of workpieces and the workability on all sides. The 1200, 1500e and 2000 ranges are suitable for machining large, complex parts from various sectors such as mold construction, petrochemicals, aeronautics, or the automotive industry. Depending on the configuration of the machine, a workpiece weighing up to 50 metric tons can be machined on its rotary table. A tilting gun-drill drilling unit with up to plus/minus 35 degrees of leeway can also be equipped. The milling and boring spindle has a diameter of 130 mm and achieves an output of 37 kW and a torque of 1,550 Nm. The centers are fully enclosed to protect the workshop environment and the operators against coolant and chips.
