Tool presetter with touchscreen image processing (0088)

The newly developed Alfa-Set 144 tool presetter is claimed to guarantee optimum measuring reliability as a result of the intelligent design and arrangement of the linear guides on the measuring column. According to Alfa-Sys, the unit provides ergonomic, user-friendly single-handed operation and fine adjustment with micron accuracy. The new design of the basic seat for the tool taper and adapter reportedly provides a run-out accuracy below 3 microns even for extra long tools. The design enables careful presetting of tools up to 80 kg. The touchscreen image processing, in conjunction with the floating reticule, allows fast and stress-free measuring. As is explained, the image processing system automatically recognizes the tool tip anywhere on the screen and selects the suitable measuring method. The frontal illumination allows tool tip inspection with 20 and 40 X magnification. Measuring data output can be sent to a printer or straight to the machine tool or DNC network. The company is looking for distributors for several countries and stresses its good support and its attractive resale conditions.
