High-performance tube-bending machine (0278)
The all-electric DB130 ESRB tube-bending machine from Addison McKee has been manufactured to a modular design to enable a number of variants to be offered based upon the same structure. The machine is described as a 130 mm high-performance boost bending machine designed for maximum productivity. It has reportedly been built according to exacting standards enforced by the company's own ISO-accredited Total Quality Assurance program. Standard features include touchscreen controls for easy operation, full-color graphics, graphical representation of the component shape, and XYZ-to-YBC conversion. The British developers also highlight the tooling data storage, sequence teach and production monitoring facilities, the electronic piece counter, the disk drive and CD ROM backup unit, and the phased mandrel retraction. A powered follower slide, wiper die bracket and three mandrel rods are also singled out in the list of specifications. On-line modem diagnostics are possible. The system was apparently designed for the auto industry. The robust machines are said to incorporate special features to minimize the laborious task of tool setting and fully automatic models are also available.
